Director of Music | Artistic Director
Chetham’s seeks an accomplished, innovative and creative musician to lead the School’s music programme from September 2019

The Director of Music will enable every student to reach the highest standards, and will consistently promote excellence, ambition and creative zeal amongst colleagues in a thriving department and across the School.  The Director of Music is a member of the Senior Leadership Group and works closely with the Principal and Governing Body in affirming the strategic direction of the School.

The Director of Music will be a relationship orientated, values based, practical musician and leader who exudes warmth, approachability and a love of sharing her/his extensive musical knowledge. The Director of Music’s exceptional communication skills will ensure the School continues to nurture relationships, develop new partnerships, and build on its reputation at the forefront of the UK’s music education sector.

Practice Assistants: Brass and Piano

Hourly rate: £12.98 per hour
Hours: 4-6 hours per week

Chetham’s seeks experienced musicians to assist the students during practice whilst helping to reinforce the aims of the teacher.

We are looking for people with the following credentials:

Composition Tutor(s)

Up to 4 hours per week, term-time only, with potential for further hours according to demand
Hourly rate dependent on experience
Fixed term position for 2 academic years

We are seeking a specialist composition tutor(s) to join the teaching team at the UK’s largest specialist music school. Working with students up to 18 years of age, your high level of teaching expertise will be engaged with students whose learning levels prove challenging and inspiring beyond their years.

You will be able to stimulate composition students theoretically, stylistically and musically. The ability to bring your own diverse musical language into our students’ musical journey is crucial – along with an astute awareness of the contemporary musical world around you (including the non-classical).

Ideal candidates will be able to cite notable commissions and performances of their own works, and will be experienced in leading composition workshops and rehearsals.

Front of House Event Stewards
The Stoller Hall, Carole Nash Hall & Chetham’s School of Music

Flexible part time role
Hourly rate: £7.83 per hour

We are seeking to expand our team with additional Front of House Stewards. The Front of House Steward will act as an ambassador for Chetham’s and The Stoller Hall, as first point of contact for all visitors, providing a world class customer experience.
