Thomas Verity studied at Manchester University and the Royal Northern College of Music. He has performed, recorded and broadcast with orchestras including Manchester Camerata, the Scottish Chamber Orchestra and the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, and has played guest principal with the Hallé Orchestra, BBC Philharmonic, Royal Northern Sinfonia, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra.
Since 2011 he has held the post of Principal Second Clarinet / E-flat Clarinet with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra. Highlights with the RLPO include tours to Spain, China and Japan, and playing principal clarinet in the BBC Proms 2013.
As a member of the Sterling Trio (www.thesterlingtrio.com), Thomas has performed throughout England (including The Bridgewater Hall & RNCM, Manchester and St Martin-in-the-Fields & St James’s Piccadilly, London) and toured to Scotland and Wales. The Trio have twice been selected for the Making Music Concert Promoters’ Group, as well as the Park Lane Group Young Artists scheme, which led to a performance in the Queen Elizabeth Hall. He also appears on oboist Melinda Maxwell’s critically acclaimed CD Orpheus Elegies – as well as playing on the Bob the Builder soundtrack!
