Annual Fund

Chetham’s has a history of over 350 years.
We need your help to deliver our vision for the future.

As a registered charity, we rely on charitable support to continue our important work and hope that you might consider supporting us in one of the following areas:

Bursaries
The only criterion for entry to Chetham’s School of Music is musical potential, and never the ability to pay. In fact, over 90% of our students receive financial support to aid them in their studies, with nearly 20% paying no fees at all. Support to the Chetham’s Bursary Fund enables us to ensure the brightest young stars can access world-class education and achieve their full potential.

“Thank you for the bursary that was awarded to me. I look forward to my future in music and I am so very grateful for the help that has allowed my journey to start.” – Bursary recipient

Music Department
With a programme of over 300 free and ticketed performances at venues across the country, regular one-to-one music tuition and up close masterclass sessions with world-class musicians, the Chetham’s Music Department provides a rounded music education, with the development and growth of our students at its heart. The Music Department’s enhanced programme of activities nurtures the music stars of tomorrow and is only possible thanks to the charitable support we receive.

Outreach Programme
The Chetham’s Outreach Programme engages over 3,000 members of the community every year through a series of activities including workshops, family concerts and school visits. The Outreach Programme relies solely on fundraised income and so charitable donations are essential to ensure we continue to deliver these activities in our communities.

“I can’t tell you how much everyone – staff and children – enjoyed your visit! The music was really wonderful – and it was so interesting to see and learn about the different instruments – the children will be talking about it for a long time to come!” – Teacher following a visit to a local school

The Stoller Hall Programme
The Stoller Hall is Manchester’s newest performance venue and one of the most acoustically advanced concert halls in the country, providing a musical experience unlike any other. With your help, we will be able to develop and grow the hall’s artistic programme, enhancing our impact on the cultural landscape of Greater Manchester, and the nation.
