Since leaving Chetham’s…

After leaving Chetham’s, Edgar went on to win the Phillip and Dorothy Green Young Artist Award 2012 and Concordia Young Artist 2012-2015. He has worked in Halle, The City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra (CBSO), Royal Philharmonic Orchestra (RPO) and Royal Liverpool Orchestra. Edgar has now settled in a full time role as Head of Strings at Cheltenham Ladies’ College.

Ensembles or key performances you played in

String quartet trip to Norway 2004. BBC young musician string semi finalist.

What was the best thing about your time at Chetham’s?

The incredible teaching and experience of solo chamber and orchestra work and of course the people.

What’s your favourite memory of Chetham’s? 

All my rehearsals and concerts with my assigned accompanist Brenda Blewett.

What impact did Chetham’s have on your life?

It made me absolutely want a career in music.
