We are looking for a positive, kind and professional Head of Millgate House, to lead both Boarders and Day students from age 13-18yrs. This role is suited to people who have worked in a Boarding School environment or similar residential setting. Accommodation is provided on site.

Millgate House (formerly called Boys’ House) looks after between 80 and 110 students, it is a lively and busy place. We need an outstanding person to come and be part of the School and to improve the good standards that already exist.

Instrumental Tutor: Flute Studies

Maternity Cover – Part Time

We are seeking a specialist flute teacher with a high level of instrumental expertise and a broad range of teaching experience at the highest of specialist standards. Working as a part of our highly regarded woodwind teaching team within the UK’s largest specialist music school, candidates will be committed to the education and development of exceptionally talented young people.

This role will be providing maternity cover for a senior member of staff, with hours focused primarily upon first study students. The ability to undertake Orchestral Repertoire/Technique Classes, and supplementary Piccolo Studies would be an advantage. The ability to teach students competently in an online setting is crucial to this role.

Candidates will need to be flexible with regards to hours – which necessarily change annually dependent upon student intake. There is the potential to start earlier/delay start until September dependent upon maternity cover circumstances.

Initially anticipated hours will be up to 8+ per week (term time only).

Chetham’s School of Music, is the UK’s largest specialist music school, situated in the heart of Manchester.

We are looking to appoint a teacher with outstanding all-round musicianship to fulfil this vital role.

Our students are remarkable, and they deserve the most imaginative and rigorous musical education in the classroom to complement their instrumental studies.

The Co-ordinator of Lower School Academic Music will be responsible for the classroom music programme of all students from Years 4 to 8. As part of the outstanding Academic Music team, they will also teach students up to and including A-level, direct choirs and form part of the wider music education team in the school.

Previous experience of working in a busy, domestic environment, such as a school, hospital or hotel is essential, with duties including general cleaning and the use of floor maintenance machinery.  Training in the use of machinery will be given to the right applicant.

We are looking for time-served, fully qualified and experienced Maintenance Mechanical Pipe Fitter/Plumbers.

Experience of ventilation systems would be desirable.

Candidates will be qualified to City and Guilds 6192-02 as a minimum, and have served a recognised trade apprenticeship in the disciplines required. Gas Safe registration would be desirable but not essential as the School can provide training.
