Violin Tutors

Chetham’s School of Music is seeking violin tutors with proven pedagogical experience at the highest of standards. You will be working in the UK’s largest specialist music school and will be committed to the education and development of exceptionally talented young people.

The job

There are 2 roles currently available; x1 Maternity Cover position, x1 permanent

  • Primarily focusing on 1-2-1 tuition of 1st study and subsidiary study students (aged 8-18), the ideal candidate will have a significant depth of experience in developing students’ holistic musical education throughout their student years.
  • This position will suit candidates whose strength lies in supporting and developing younger students in particular – but the role is not restricted to teaching specific age groups. Chetham’s believes in creating robust, rounded and relevant musicians of the future. We value tutors who share our aim to support students in achieving musical and personal breadth in tandem with technical proficiency.
  • Candidates will need to be flexible with regards to average working hours. Hours are allocated annually based upon student intake and therefore subject to annual variance. Candidates can elect to apply for both positions.
  • Initially anticipated hours:
    Maternity role – up to circa 6 hours per week (term time only), duration of contract will be subject to Maternity Leave, provisionally until minimum January 2024.
    Permanent role –  up to circa 7 hours per week (term time only – 28-30 weeks per annum).

 In return

Maintenance Mechanical Pipe Fitter & Ventilation

Full time — 37.5 hours per week, with additional rostered and un-rostered overtime
Salary — £24,507 pa

We are looking for time-served, fully qualified and experienced Maintenance Mechanical Pipe Fitter/Plumbers.

Experience of ventilation systems would be desirable.

Candidates will be qualified to City and Guilds 6192-02 as a minimum, and have served a recognised trade apprenticeship in the disciplines required. Gas Safe registration would be desirable but not essential as the School can provide training.
