Sports & Fitness Co-Ordinator

Chetham’s School of Music is looking for an inspiring and resourceful teacher to plan and provide Fitness activities and offer Sports coaching for students aged 8-18 years within a specialist musical environment.  Anticipated start date for the role is January 2023, subject to receipt of pre-employment checks.

Teaching Assistant

Chetham’s School of Music have a vacancy for a full-time Teaching Assistant to support students in class, lead small intervention groups and be a Form Tutor. Our students are exceptional musicians, and some require support with English as an Additional Language or Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. We are looking for very special person to work with the Compensatory Education Department.

The job 

  • This is a term time position

Residential House Assistant

Chetham’s School of Music is seeking a new House Assistant to join the boarding pastoral team, assisting with the day-to-day care and boarding routines of the students. The role will most likely involve working with our senior students aged 14-18 but there may be some flexibility to work with our junior students aged 9-13.

The job 

  • This is a term time position
  • The role is nominally 40 hours per week, with 3 day or evening shifts during the week and 1 at the weekend.  However, because of the nature of pastoral case, the role requires a flexible approach
  • The role is residential and single person accommodation is available

 In return 

  • You will receive £9.50 per hour (pay award pending from September 2022)

Vocal Tutor

Chetham’s School of Music is seeking a specialist vocal tutor with a broad range of teaching experience at the highest of standards. Working as a part of our highly regarded vocal teaching team within the UK’s largest specialist music school, candidates will be committed to the education and development of exceptionally talented young people aged 8 to 18.

The job 

  • Initially anticipated hours; c.5hrs per week (term time only, 28-30 weeks per annum).
  • This role will initially be undertaken on a 1yr fixed term contract, but with the potential for hours to increase and contract extension thereafter.
  • A high-level of pedagogical experience is essential, coupled with extensive experience of teaching all voice types (including coaching students going through ‘vocal change’). Stage and performance experience within the operatic repertoire and solo concert/recital repertoire is also desirable.

Security Officer

We have a vacancy for an SIA-qualified Security Officer to work as part of a team undertaking all aspects of general security and concierge duties within the premises and grounds plus concierge-type duties.

Maintenance Mechanical Pipe Fitter & Ventilation

Full time — 37.5 hours per week, with additional rostered and un-rostered overtime
Salary — £24,507 pa

We are looking for time-served, fully qualified and experienced Maintenance Mechanical Pipe Fitter/Plumbers.

Experience of ventilation systems would be desirable.

Candidates will be qualified to City and Guilds 6192-02 as a minimum, and have served a recognised trade apprenticeship in the disciplines required. Gas Safe registration would be desirable but not essential as the School can provide training.
