50th Anniversary Fund

Over the last fifty years, Chetham’s School of Music has played a significant role in nurturing the future of the nation’s music culture.

For many, Chetham’s is the first step on a musical journey that lasts a lifetime. By recognising and developing musical potential, our young musicians go on to become the lifeblood of the music world, performing on stages and sharing their skills with leading orchestras, organisations and schools across the world.

As part of our plans for the future, are aims are to:

  • Continue to ensure that the wellbeing and happiness of our students is central to all that we do. We will introduce an additional twenty bursary places, enabling even more gifted young musicians to access our world-class education.
  • Work with partners across the international music landscape to ensure that, together, we develop musicians from beginner to professional. Outreach activities in hard to reach communities, inspiring audience development activities across all genres, and professional development opportunities will ensure that music remains essential to the nation’s culture.
  • Establish The Stoller Hall as the country’s leading venue for chamber music performance. Annual, curated festivals will attract the very best international talent to the North West, whilst masterclasses will complete the circle of learning as visiting professional musicians, including our own alumni, share their skills and experience with our young musicians.

Can you help us continue to do so for the next fifty years and beyond? or read more here
