Humphrey Chetham Club Membership

Named after Humphrey Chetham, the visionary Mancunian businessman who founded Chetham’s School and Chetham’s Library in 1653, the Humphrey Chetham Club carries forth his important legacy.

Members support Chetham’s with a minimum gift of £1,000 pa, and:

  • Enjoy our intimate lunches* with a glass of wine and an exclusive concert by Chetham’s students. As a Member you will be invited to an exclusive programme of private lunches with an opportunity to meet some of the students in Manchester’s oldest building.
  • Drinks Reception** from time to time we will host a private drinks reception prior to some of our more special events, such as Chetham’s Symphony Orchestra (CSO) and Chetham’s School of Music end-of-year performance. As a Member you will be invited to the drinks reception.
  • First to know by being amongst the first to hear of special events being held by Chetham’s School, Chetham’s Library and The Stoller Hall, you have the chance to book ahead of the general public.

We promise your gift will support Chetham’s Capital Projects

Our Capital Projects have transform Chetham’s with the opening of the New School Building in 2012, the demolition of the Palatine Building and the opening of The Stoller Hall in 2017, the Humphrey Chetham Club Members have been our biggest supporters every step of the way.

Gift Aid it – If you’re a UK taxpayer you could increase the value of your gift by allowing us to claim back 25p for every £1 you give by joining the Gift Aid scheme. And it’s at no cost to you.  Gift Aid allows us to reclaim from the Government the tax on your Membership subscriptions and donations.
