Due to commemorative events taking place across the city, we are expecting road closures around the Chetham’s sites and potential travel delays on Tuesday 22 May. In particular, access to Manchester Cathedral will be restricted around the time of the concert, and Cathedral Gardens is expected to be busy with a relay of the Cathedral service. We are not aware of any planned restrictions on Metrolink or rail services, or to access from the Victoria Station side of the site, but we suggest leaving plenty of time for your journey.

This concert will finish in good time for anyone wishing to join the city wide minute of silence at 2.30pm.

Discover Chetham’s Lunchtime Concerts series

Escape your routine, take a late lunch and discover the musicians of the future with free music at our daily Lunchtime Concerts. Chetham’s students give concerts of outstanding quality in the Carole Nash Hall, varying from full-length solo recitals to sequences of shorter pieces by instrumentalists, vocalists or chamber ensembles.

Full details of programmes and performers are usually published approximately one week in advance.

Concerts take place at 1.30pm every weekday during term-time*, and last approximately 45 minutes.  Entrance is FREE and no booking is required.  We welcome contributions to a retiring collection, which helps to fund music activities across the School.

The New School Building is fully accessible, but we regret that refreshments are not available at lunchtime events.

*We advise you to check the daily listings or call the school in advance to check that a concert is taking place to avoid disappointment. Telephone  0161 834 9644.
