Families

Music can bring families closer through sharing and making music together. That’s why we offer regular families workshops and concerts for ages 3+, including performances from Chetham’s students.

Stoller Story Sounds
is our pre-school music programme that combines storytelling, live illustration and music to create an interactive, multi-sensory experience for children aged 3-5 years and their grown-ups. Every story features professional musicians from a range of musical styles and the chance to make and enjoy music together. A new story is created for each session, so you’ll never see the same story twice!

Each session lasts approximately 45 minutes. Tickets are limited to 15 children (plus adults) per session. Sessions take place in our workshop rooms.

Mini Music Adventures is perfect for children aged 5 – 7 years old to be introduced to musical cultures from around the world through immersive and interactive storytelling. Each performance is inspired by the musical heritage of our guest artists, so each one is unique! Adventures have included traditional Roma, Welsh, Latin American and Sri Lankan music woven together with Western Classical music, all performed by students from Chetham’s School of Music.

Each session lasts approximately 45 minutes. Tickets are limited to 40 children (plus adults) per session. Sessions take place in the Carole Nash Hall.

Family Concerts are a great way to introduce children aged 7+ to the orchestra through fun musical stories. Performed by students from Chetham’s School of Music, these concerts feature a large orchestra, a conductor and narrator to bring the music to life!

Each performance lasts approximately 1 hour. Performances take place in Stoller Hall.
