Chetham’s is situated in the heart of Manchester’s Medieval Quarter, bordered by Manchester Cathedral, Victoria Station and the National Football Museum. Chetham’s is within easy reach of all main train, bus, tram and road links.

Entrances

Millgate Entrance
The main entrance for Chetham’s School of Music and Chetham’s Library, and for performances in Whiteley Hall and the Baronial Hall. This entrance is through the security gate at the Gatehouse on Long Millgate, opposite the lower end of the National Football Museum.

Hunts Bank Entrance
For performances and events in the Carole Nash Hall, The Stoller Hall and the Oglesby Atrium. This entrance leads directly into the new School Building, opposite Victoria Station and Manchester Arena.

Parking

There is no parking available within Chetham’s, except, on occasion, by prior arrangement for visitors with disabilities.

If you have booked a ticket to a concert, you can receive an offer for discounted parking with APCOA Printworks car parking when booking in advance via their website, which provides 30% off parking for any length of stay on the day of your visit. You will receive a discount code via our pre-event email and on our print-at-home e-tickets. This car park has accessible spaces, and there are lifts in the bus station entrance to the car park, and at the Shudehill entrance and these entry/exit points do not involve steps. Should anyone require help/assistance at the car park, the site is staffed 24/7 and staff can be summoned by using the intercom on the pay machines and at the pedestrian entrances.

The nearest car park is Q-Park Deansgate North, M3 7WJ, which is a five minute walk from The Stoller Hall, and is open 24/7.

Public Transport

By train: Chetham’s is situated opposite Manchester Victoria station where direct services run from across the region. Manchester Victoria is a 10-minute direct tram journey from Manchester Piccadilly. Visit The Train Line here.

By tram: Metrolink services connect communities across Greater Manchester.  The nearest stop to Chetham’s is Victoria Station.

By bus: Many buses stop a few minutes’ walk from Chetham’s on Corporation Street and at Shudehill Transport Interchange. The central bus station at Piccadilly Gardens, and the coach station on Chorlton Street, are each a 10-15 minute walk or a short tram ride away.
