Making music more accessible

We believe that everyone should have the opportunity to experience the magic of music and our mission is to make music more accessible to people in Manchester and beyond.

The responsibility we feel to share the power of music with the city and its young people is also at the heart of what we teach our students at Chetham’s. They regularly perform and share their gift with other schools, in care homes, and perform in public spaces.

Our programme of events at The Stoller Hall includes concerts, masterclasses and more so find out what’s on, and come and join in.

‘Relaxed’ performances are for a range of audiences including families, people with learning disabilities or autism, or people who are new to concerts and performances. We change the environment for the performance, so people feel welcomed.

We also love to go out to visit schools and other venues. If you are a classroom or instrumental teacher, you can find out more about how we could work with you by emailing

We offer interactive learning projects for individuals, schools and community groups. Projects include workshops and performances for schools, large-scale community performances and collaborations, family concerts and events, commissions, supporting ensembles, CPD for teachers and much more.

We are very grateful for the support of The Michael Bishop Foundation, Zochonis Charitable Trust, LHR Foundation, The Hargreaves and Ball Family Trust, The Booth Charities, the Beaverbrooks Charitable Trust and our many other generous supporters, without whom none of our activity would be possible.

We have thoroughly enjoyed our sessions with you over the last few weeks. Both staff and children have gained enormously in skills, knowledge and enriching experience.
