Neil Vint Bursary Fund

Neil Vint was a student at Chetham’s from 1984-1988, who died tragically in 1994. In his memory, his parents have established a bursary fund to help young musicians as they begin their professional career.

A total of £1000 is awarded annually to one applicant following reviews of applications by the Joint Principal and Mrs Vint.

Who can apply?

The award is open to alumni of Chetham’s aged 20-26. Preference is usually given to students who have just left music college or university, as the funding is intended to help kickstart careers in the music industry.

When do applications open?

Applications open during the Summer term every year.

In 2022, applications open on Monday 16 May and close on Friday 17 June.

How to apply?

To apply, please email a letter of application to Eleanor Hall, Alumni Relations Assistant, at by Friday 17 June.
Your letter should be addressed to the Joint Principal, Tom Redmond.

Your letter of application should include:
  • Details of your education and professional career so far
  • What your career aspirations are
  • Why you are suitable to receive the award
