Relaxed Concerts

What are relaxed concerts?

Make your lunchtime magical with our free Relaxed Lunchtime Concerts featuring performances by some of the UK’s most exciting young musicians from Chetham’s School of Music.

These events are perfect if you’re looking to encounter the world of classical music, perhaps for the first time, in an informal environment.

There’s no dress code, you don’t need to know your Beethoven from your Bach, and you won’t be shushed by an usher.

Our team are really friendly and happy to help with whatever you need. You can find more details about accessing our venue here.

Our welcoming space are consistently lit and have easy access for entry, exit and re-entry at any time throughout the performance.

Adapted seating brings you closer to the performers and their instruments to give you a truly memorable experience.

Our mission is to help more people from Manchester and beyond access live music and enjoy the enormous wellbeing benefits it brings.

“The concerts motivate me to get out (especially in the winter months), and being held at lunch time meets my needs, as I tend not to venture out at night during the dark months, due to feeling vulnerable. The added bonus is that they are free (I like concerts and theatre, but very rarely go due to cost). All in all, the concerts have a very positive impact on my mental wellbeing. Leaving the concert hall, I feel relaxed, entertained, and fulfilled.”
