Making music more accessible

Our mission is to make music more accessible to people in Manchester and beyond. The responsibility we feel to share the power of music with the city and its young people is at the heart of what we teach our students at Chetham’s – they regularly perform and share their gift with families, communities, school children and other young musicians.

RELAXED PERFORMANCES

Our ‘Relaxed’ performances are a great way to experience live music for the first time and ideal for groups and individuals who would benefit from a more informal atmosphere, including people with learning disabilities or autism. Concerts include introductions from performers, space to move, opportunities to chat, and tea and cake. Find out more.

SCHOOLS

We work closely with schools and teachers to create inspirational music projects and opportunities for students including KS2 Online Workshops, schools concerts, tours and creative projects. Find out more.

FAMILIES

Families can bond through sharing and making music together. That’s why we offer regular families workshops and concerts for ages 3+, which include performances from young musicians from Chetham’s. Find out more.

SUPPORT OUR MISSION

Creating meaningful, musical opportunities for children, young people and communities is our mission. We work with Greater Manchester Music Education Hub, Music in Secondary School Trust, Wood Street Mission and others to deliver and support musical development projects in Greater Manchester and the UK.

We are very grateful for the support of The Zochonis Charitable Trust, The LHR Charitable Foundation, David Gaskill, ABO Trust’s Sirens programme, Kester Dean Disability Rights, and our many other generous supporters, without whom none of our activity would be possible.

Help us to provide musical opportunities to young people and their families in Greater Manchester.
