Join this Estill Voice Training Introductory Workshop led by Estill Master Trainers Ashleigh Dowler and Maple Yu. See how the voice works, tune your ears to a new world of vocal colours and get a taster feel of the model. The workshop will explore the thirteen figures for voice and also the six voice qualities: Speech, Falsetto, Sob, Twang, Opera and Belt.
This workshop is beneficial for any voice user, whether you are a singer, actor, choral directors, speech and language therapists or public speakers, this is for you! Together you will explore the Estill model and give you an overview of how the voice works by looking at the anatomy and physiology of the vocal mechanism. There will also be an Open Session where you can sign-up to receive direct coaching on a section of a song or spoken piece from trained and accredited Estill Master Trainers. There will also be time for questions throughout the day and have a dedicated Q&A session.

About Your Trainers
Ashleigh Dowler is a Manchester based voice teacher and professional vocalist with a background in CCM styles including jazz, pop, rock and soul. He trained at The Institute of Contemporary Music Performance and was initially introduced to Estill Voice Training over a decade ago.
As an Estill Master Trainer (EMT) he uses the Estill Model on a daily basis to help his clients gain control, efficiency and freedom within their craft. Experienced with a wide range of individuals from professional gigging vocalists, singer-songwriters and hobbyist singers to spoken voice clients such as actors and workshop leaders; Ashleigh helps voice users find the freedom to know their instrument and make their own vocal choices in a sustainable, reliable way.
Maple was privileged to begin her musical journey as a classical vocal student at Chetham’s School of Music, Manchester. She continued her classical training at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and gained her PGDip (Music) at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama.
Maple is a vocal coach based in Manchester, she is an Estill Master Trainer (EMT), certified to teach Estill Voice Training®️ to her clients. She is committed to using her knowledge of the Estill model to provide her clients with the tools and understanding to use their voices in all genres, and to support the unique expressions in the artistic choices of each individual.
Estill Voice Training
Estill Voice Training® (EVT) uses science to teach voice. Developed by Jo Estill in the 1970s, it was established in the 1980s and has since been used by artists and performers, voice instructors and clinicians, and voice researchers worldwide. It is a model for healthy voice production without aesthetic bias. Don’t miss this opportunity to gain valuable knowledge and learn how it can benefit your work professionally or for personal enjoyment.
