“..Roscoe never miscalculates the voicing of a chord … It would be difficult to overpraise Roscoe’s accomplishment.” – International Record Review

With an extraordinary career spanning over four decades, Martin Roscoe is one of the UK’s best loved pianists.

Following his last Manchester Chamber Concerts Society performance with Tasmin Little, Roscoe will return to The Stoller Hall for a solo recital. A regular pianist on BBC Radio 3, with over 600 broadcasts and seven BBC Proms appearances, his extensive repertoire and immediate audience connection mean he is in great demand as a concerto soloist, chamber musician and recitalist.

For his solo performance at The Stoller Hall, Roscoe will perform a range of European music, including Mozart, Schubert, Haydn and Beethoven.

The show takes us through intense emotions, beginning with one of Mozart’s most popular piano pieces, Fantasia No. 3. This is followed by Schubert’s powerful melodies including two Impromptus, showcasing the composers intense skill and maturity. The music shift’s to Haydn’s piano work, written in 1793 for Barbara von Ployer, whose name may ring a bell, as Mozart wrote two of his most joyously elegant concertos for her, K449 and K453. Roscoe finishes his performance with Beethoven’s ‘Appassionata’, a hugely expressive finale and a piece inspired by scenes from nature, written soon after his irreversible hearing loss.

This is a performance full of music which connects us and feeds our imaginations.
