“Murray McLachlan is a pianist with a virtuoso technique and a sure sense of line. His timing and phrasing are impeccable, and his tone […] is a perpetual delight” – BBC Music Magazine
A very rare opportunity to hear Brahms’ barnstorming, passionately youthful piano sonatas in a single recital. Murray McLachlan, Head of Keyboard and alumnus of Chetham’s continues the School’s 50th anniversary celebrations with a tour-de-force. Brahms conceived his early works on a monumental scale, and his piano sonatas turn the instrument into a virtual orchestra. Poetry, passion and panache in abundance!
Murray McLachlan has made over 40 commercial recordings. He has performed with most of the major British Professional Orchestras and appeared as soloist on all five continents. He is the author of three books on piano technique for Faber Music
