Housekeeping Assistant

Chetham’s School of Music is seeking a Housekeeping Assistant to join the internationally renowned specialist music school located in the city centre of Manchester. Chetham’s is a magical place, home to the UK’s largest specialist music school, the oldest library in the English-speaking world, and a world-class concert venue, all in the heart of Manchester.

The job

  •  We are looking for a Housekeeping Assistant to join our housekeeping team to deliver an efficient and high-quality service to the school.
  • You will work as part of the Housekeeping Team in ensuring that an efficient and high-quality Housekeeping Service is provided to all areas of the school.
  • The role is nominally 20 hours per week Monday – Friday. Core hours: 7.00am to 11.00pm.

 In return

  •  Salary: £12.21 per hour.
  • Benefits including subsidised lunches during term time, on site gym and free tickets to selected concerts.

School Library Assistant (Term Time only)

Chetham’s School of Music is seeking a School Library Assistant to join the internationally renowned specialist music school located in city centre Manchester. The job

  • We are seeking an enthusiastic School Library Assistant to join our team in the School’s Learning Resource Centre.
  • Required February 2026 or ASAP thereafter (checks dependent).
  • 9 hours per week.
  • The shifts involved are term-time Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings 1630-2000 including 30-minute unpaid meal break (approximately 32 weeks per year).
  • Knowledge of music is essential as is experience of dealing with young people.

In return

  • You will be paid £12.21 per hour.
  • Benefits including subsided meal, use of an on-site gym and free tickets to selected concerts.
