School Library Assistant (Term Time only)

Chetham’s School of Music is seeking a School Library Assistant to join the internationally renowned specialist music school located in city centre Manchester. Chetham’s is home to the UK’s largest specialist music school, the oldest library in the English-speaking world, and a world-class concert venue all in the heart of Manchester.

The job

  • We are seeking an enthusiastic School Library Assistant to join our team in the School’s Learning Resource Centre.
  • Required February 2026 or ASAP thereafter (checks dependent).
  • 9 hours per week.
  • The shifts involved are term-time Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings 1630-2000 including 30-minute unpaid meal break (approximately 32 weeks per year).
  • Knowledge of music is essential as is experience of dealing with young people.

In return

  • You will be paid £12.21 per hour.

Practice Administrator (Term Time only)

Chetham’s School of Music is seeking a Practice Administrator to join the internationally renowned specialist music school located in city centre Manchester. Chetham’s is home to the UK’s largest specialist music school, the oldest library in the English-speaking world, and a world-class concert venue all in the heart of Manchester.

The job

  • We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic and supportive when working with young people (ages 8-18).
  • This is a permanent, part-time position for 13.5 hours per week, during term time only.
  • Our building opens at 07:30am on weekdays and slightly later on weekends, closing at 22:00pm daily. We’re looking for staff interested in fixed shift work, with occasional ad hoc cover in addition.
  • Shifts available currently: Monday 17:00-22:00; Thursday 08:15-13:00; Friday 08:15-13:00
  • The start date will be February 2026 (subject to checks).

In return

  • Hourly rate: £13.20 per hour

Nurse

Chetham’s School of Music is seeking a Nurse to join the internationally renowned specialist music school located in city centre Manchester.  Chetham’s is a magical place, home to the UK’s largest specialist music school, the oldest library in the English speaking world and a world-class concert venue all in the heart of Manchester.

The job

  • We are looking for a Registered Nurse to join the Medical Centre Team at Chetham’s School of Music. Chetham’s is a Specialist Music School and Boarding School in the heart of Manchester. Our students range from 8-18 and are chosen to come here due to their outstanding musical abilities.
  • We are looking for a calm, caring, and conscientious nurse who will look after the health and wellbeing needs of our students. You will be expected to be flexible to meet the medical needs of the school community, as this is an essential part of the role.
  • The role is 32 hours per week including availability to work one day on the weekend
  • The shifts are either 7.30am-3.30pm or 1pm-9pm and weekends are 8am-8pm.
  • The role is Term Time only and one week in the summer holidays.

In return

  • You will be paid between SCP 29 £27,126.96 – SCP 31 £28,771.56 per annum (£38,727.65 – £41,075.55 FTE) dependent upon experience.
  • You will have on site parking when on shift.
  • Benefits include subsided meal, on site gym, free tickets to selected concerts & Cycle to Work Scheme.
