Iconic American musician, storyteller, and two-time Grammy winner, Rickie Lee Jones, today announces two exclusive shows in London and Manchester.
The legendary artist, known for her groundbreaking self-titled debut and the seminal “Pirates,” will perform at Manchester’s Stoller Hall this August. Hailed as the “premiere song-stylist and songwriter of her generation” by The New Yorker and dubbed “The Duchess of Coolsville” by Time magazine, Rickie Lee Jones has left an indelible mark on pop culture with her soulful melodies and evocative storytelling. With a career spanning decades, Jones continues to inspire audiences worldwide, garnering critical acclaim and a devoted following.
In 2023, Jones mesmerized listeners with her Grammy-nominated album “Pieces of Treasure,” a remarkable reunion with Russ Titelman, the producer behind her first two records. Her celebrated memoir, “Last Chance Texaco,” received accolades including Book of the Year by MOJO and recognition as a Best Book of the Year by Pitchfork and NPR. As The Independent eloquently puts it, “There has always been something defiant about Rickie Lee Jones… a voice from a dream, elusive yet familiar, transcendent, a messenger from another place.” The upcoming shows at London Union Chapel and Manchester’s Stoller Hall promise an enchanting evening of music and storytelling, as Jones shares her timeless classics and personal favourites in these stunning venues. Fans can expect to be transported by Jones’ soul-stirring vocals and masterful guitar work, experiencing her music in its purest form.
