Chetham’s School of Music is delighted to welcome trumpeter Aaron Akugbo for a special lunchtime concert recital, with pianist Jonathan Fisher, live from The Stoller Hall.
Aaron is at Chetham’s to deliver a Trumpet Masterclass with Chetham’s young musicians, before performing a live recital for a student audience.
Aaron is trialing as principal with Philharmonia Orchestra, English National Opera, as co-principal at BBC Philharmonic Orchestra and 2nd trumpet with LSO whilst freelancing with the other leading orchestras in the UK.
He is a member of the international award winning brass quintet, Connaught Brass; and as a soloist he came joint third in the 2019 “Girolamo Fantini” International Trumpet Competition as well making his London Concerto Debut at the Royal Festival Hall with Chineke! orchestra where he is also principal trumpet – an orchestra which aims to address racial equality in the classical music world.
