As we move to a world of online communities, these words from Chetham’s Director of Music, Tom Redmond, are as relevant to our wider UK society as they are to our young musicians:
“It’s been a very strange week at school. No music. No hustle and bustle. No laughter.
“Our departure from school was abrupt; we left on Friday lunchtime expecting to see everyone again on Sunday evening.
“That Sunday evening will come; just not for a little while.
“In the meantime, let’s keep our community alive.
“Be kind. Be supportive. Be creative. Be Chet’s!”
Chetham’s first full week of online instrumental teaching starts today.
That’s 1,000 hours per week of online instrumental music.
Our music, our learning, our community lives on!
