BBC Young Musician of the Year: Chetham’s students star

Congratulations to Fang and Rhydian, our upper school students, who were standout performers in the 2020 BBC Young Musician of the Year finals.

Filmed prior to Covid-19 restrictions, the category finals are currently airing at 7pm on Sunday evenings on BBC Four.

Last week, our trombonist Rhydian was one of the standout performers in the brass category final.

And this week, marimba player Fang was the winner of the percussion category final.

The Chetham’s community could not be prouder!

The Grand Final, due to be held at the Bridgewater Hall, has been postponed until later in the year due to Covid-19.
